Lunch Treat & Shopping
Have booked relatives and cousins for today's lunch treat by cousin Ipein and myself. Why the treat? Coz both of us have found a job. So, it's like a double celebration. In fact, more celebrations actually, as Joshua's birthday is juz around the corner too. :)
Lunch was at Bishan J8 Crystal Jade. We distributed ourselves into 2 tables and ordered separately at our respective table. The adults were seated at 1 table, while we (cousins & nephews Joshua & Daniel) at another. Food was good. In fact, quite filling towards the end and we gotta do "spinning" to clear the food.
Thot I was suppose to foot the bill by credit card but cousin Ipein went ahead to pay first. Didn't bring enuff cash. *Oops* So took abit from ma first. :p
Had a slow walk with ma & pa after lunch while the rest made their way home. My intention was to shop for a small working bag & a pair of comfy shoes. No result from Bishan.
So, I went ahead to Orchard alone to continue my search. Combed Shaw Isetan, Tangs, Wisma, Takashimaya. Managed to buy a pair of shoes. Saw a bag (Fion) which cost $280 after discount. Don't have the heart to buy it as it was too expensive a bag.
On my way back, walked past a little shop and bought a pair of working pants.
Tiring day after so much walking. I am going to bed.

Think too much, Dream too much
Dream last nite:
Woke up in the morning, knowing that I am suppose to go work in new co. But took the usual bus to old co, sat at old cubicle and meet the same old colleagues... Felt so happy.
Lunch was out with same old lunch kakis. Shopped abit but felt abit left out by old lunch kakis. Kinda out of group le... :(
By day end, new co's boss sms me a warning note -
1. For not turning up for work & not informing,
2. For infecting the laptop with virus.

July's Ladies Nite Out!
Thanks to YW for organising yesterday's Ladies Nite Out!
Dinner was ramien from The Central @ Clarke Quay. (what's the name of the restaurant again?) Luckily she made a booking... Else I think we would queue and faint from hunger. *hee* There was such a long queue... Omg! And poor BL was still slogging in her office while we ate our dinner. When we were done, she was still stuck in the ofc. So, no full attendance again this month. :(
After dinner, it was K-ing session at Chinatown's Kbox! Solid 3 hours - sing until no voice... :p Gd destress, Great company!
Managed to catch the last train home with ML... :p

Logged on msn and kena virus in the office...
My work colleague "sent" me something which I thot was from her... After loading and opening it, i realised no reaction at all. The next thing I knew was... kena virus liao.
My whole team mates all kena too.
The IT team came by later in the evening to check. My laptop was confiscated by them to remedy... :( Hope I can get it back first thing tomolo morning... Else cannot work...
Will boss scold me? :_(

Breakfast? Argh!
Just before I was about to leave house, I realised my boss has smsed me 10 mins ago to have breakfast with him. Oops!
I replied to say "thanks but I have already taken my breakfast." Then he said what about tea? Thinking he meant later in the morning as tea break, I said okie. Then he says meet me same time - 8.15am. Then I realised he meant "real tea". >.<\\
Along the journey, I was so stressed. Thinking... why wanna meet me for breakfast ah? To discuss about the preparation for this morning's meeting? To tell me he thinks I cannot make it? Argh Argh!
When I reached, he was almost done with his breakfast as I smsed him to go ahead first. Still feeling full, I decided not to get any real tea. Sat down and discussed on preparation for this morning's meeting and he asked how i was coping.
Can I tell him I am stressed? :p

Feel bad... :(
My boss called me @ 8 plus last nite, asking me to attend a conference this morning. Took down the details and was glad that it was @ orchard. That means I can wake up slightly later. :p He mentioned it was a work life thingy @ Orchard Hotel. Now this is interesting. Orchard so many hotels... Which one is Orchard Hotel? Luckily jj was having his class at the same hotel too and of coz he became my "street directory". :p Thanks ya!
According to my boss, the conference registration is supposed to start at 8.30am. But I guess I dilly dally too much and by 8.30am, I am still no where near the hotel and worse still it was drizzling. No time to open umbrella... so I braved the drizzle and managed to reach the ballroom by 9am.
After registration, I heard them say "The minister is here." Ok. I am punctual! :p
The start of the conference was cool. They spoke about work life balance. By 10 plus, we break for tea. After tea break, when I got back to my seat, to my horror, my goodie bag with the files & brochures were gone! Someone has taken my goodie bag! Why me? There are so many other bags around lor! :(
Went to request from the registration counter, they said they don't have extras and asked me to take from other empty seats... Walao! And so, i took it from someone else... For the remaining of the conference, I feel so guilty that I have caused someone to lost his/her goodie bag. Whoever, he/she might be, I am really sorry. I need the goodie bag for my boss since I am attending on his behalf and someone stole my goodie bag... :_(
Buddy's Wedding
Attended RY's wedding last nite at merchant court. So happy for him and his wife that they have found each other and happiness. Truly wish them a lifetime of happiness. RY is such a great guy who always care for others. Really happy that he has finally found his other half. Both of them look great last nite!
The dinner started quite late (ard 8.45pm) while we sit there and starve. hahaha... By the time the cold dish was put on the table, we all go for the MEAT! hahaha...
During RY's thank you speech, he did a presentation with his own singing. In his presentation, he mentioned how nice it would be if he have known and married his wife since her birth. Then the presentation slides show hypothetically how they would have spend each year of their anniversary right from the birth of his wife.
Think he muz have really loved her very much. Until now, I still cannot imagine facing the same person for so many years, for a lifetime. Think I am either not that faithful type *oops* or I haven't found my true love. (I rather think I haven't found my true love la)
PS - That doesn't mean I am desperate. I can still wait hor! :p
Kena Bird Shit!
Went to aunty's place to pray uncle this morning. Had lunch there and went to visit godpa for a short chat.
Then while ma & pa got stuck on the mahjong war, my bro n i decided to come home first...
On our way out from aunty's place, I got "hit". Could feel and hear that sickening "piak" sound! Asked my brother if I kena and he confirms... :(
Went back to aunty's house to clean up. Walao! I wonder what that bird ate. Red shit lor! OMG! Sickening... I just washed my hair this morning... Looks like gotta wash again.. No choice. Grrrr... Gross! #$@^%

Day 3 @ Work
Met up with my boss this morning to understand my work scope...
Roughly, it includes:
1. Performance Management
2. Promotion
3. Benefits (Flexible Benefits, Local Transport, Retrenchment benefits etc)
4. Compensation (Expatriate Package)
5. Worklife Health Programmes
6. Hospitalisation & Surgical Insurance
7. Policy (Conduct & Disciplinary)
And guess what? I have also been nominated the "Social Development Officer" for the company - to help and organise programmes for the singles... Was reading thru the desired attributes (officer muz either be married or hold a relatively senior position) which I don't meet... I can't even help myself. How to help others? hahaha... Irony. :p
Hope to be able to perform the above roles that has been assigned to me. All are so new and alien to me from the policy point of view.

Day 2 @ Work
First Day @ Work
Last nite was full of anxiety about today. Hard to fall into deep sleep. Disturbed sleep throughout the nite.
Have been a long time since I have to wake up so early... Before the sun rise. :p Suppose to meet my mentor at 755am to catch the 8am shuttle bus to work. Heng ah... Was early. :p So, I accompanied my mentor for her breakfast.
My boss was busy today. So din't get a chance to speak to him. First day @ work was intranet reading and getting introduced to my new colleagues. I miss my ex-lunch kakis (the fun, the joy & the laughter) :(
I realised most of my colleagues are all using laptops! Better than my previous company whereby only managerial level and above can use. The brand that this new company uses is oso better -- Fujitsu... *Woah!*
I also learnt that this new company offers a 2 days, 1 nite orientation program for new hires @ Orchid Country Club * Woah Woah!*
I was also assigned a work buddy who told me to download msn so that we can communicate. *Woah Woah Woah!*

My Brother Is Back!
*Hee* After only getting to see my brother on msn/webcam for the past 10 months, we finally get to meet him face to face today.
The whole family has been so excited, counting down to this day - 13 July 07, Friday.
Have been packing his room, trying to create some surprises - Man U Bright Orange Bedsheet, Sony laptop... :p
The initial plan - Cousin Elin to give us a lift to the airport after her class. But after checking the arrival time which has been brought forward by 1/2 hour, we decided to cheong to the airport ourselves first. Cousin Elin & family came by shortly after. Played with cute Joshua before getting to see my brother (with his "long" hair) & viv. hahaha! The flight landed on time (the initial mentioned time)... Bluff us about the 1/2 hr earlier...
Dinner was at the kopitiam downstairs our place with Elin & family. Thanks to them for giving us a lift home. :)
The rest of the night was watching brother enjoying his Sony laptop, unpacking his lugguage & listening to his UK encounters... :)
Stupid **** Bank!
My day was spoilt... Just by this stupid $%#@ bank.
3 years back, I applied for a credit card which requires me to pledge a fixed deposit for 3 years. Benefit is that my annual fees for the next 3 years will be waived.
Recently, I received a bill requesting me to pay for subscription fee for the credit card. I know the 3-year is up. Called to cancel the credit card last week and since it's my rest day today, I decided to close and withdraw my fixed deposit...
Much to my dismay, the counter lady said it's their policy that they need 45 days to process before releasing my deposit.
We don't see the logic. If it's within the 3-years that I want to close the fixed deposit and you tell me you need 45 days, I buy it. But now, you are charging me subcription fees and still you need 45 days to process my fixed deposit?!?
Feeling disgusted, my dad helps to call up the credit card officer. Again, they say the same crap!
My dad asked so what if we decides to pay the subscription fee? Will they be able to release the fixed deposit immediately? They said "no" - the 45 days rule still applies. *cursing
After much arguing, the lady requested me to fax in to request for immediate release of the fund, stating my reason. My other credit card would also have to be terminated since it's "linked" to my fixed deposit unless I submit my payslip to support. *cursing
I was fedup!
1. The money belongs to me! I muz still state reason for withdrawing
2. The 3-years is up and I still have to wait another 45 days before they release the fund
3. The current credit card linked to my fixed deposit oso unless I provide them my payslip?
4. Nobody say anything about my current credit card or the 45 days rule to me
Told them that they are not the only bank in town and said I want to cancel ALL my credit cards under them.
My dad feeling fedup also decided to cancel all his credit cards under the same bank... (my idol)

Last Day @ work
After much counting down, today is finally the day...
Have been clearing & settling work since 3 weeks ago...
Have been packing and bringing stuff back since last week...
Have been handing over to my colleague for the past few days...
Pauline was telling me today that she has never seen anyone from the department receiving so much gifts right till their last day...
Used the new document bag and changed to the classy working blouse after much persuading from my lunch kakis... Then it was photo taking sessions by Karen who specially brought her digital camera... Look forward to the photos! :p
After doing so many exit clearances for other staff, I finally did mine today... Felt so familiar. hahaha...
Stayed behind with Pauline to secretly leave something on everyone's desk after they leave office... No courage to bid farewell to them one by one...
I will definitely miss my lunch kakis... :_( never have I felt such sense of belonging and so crazy when I was with them...

Met up with some of my closer colleagues for a gd steamboat makan at Royal Hotel JadeRoom Restaurant...
We arrived at about 12 plus. Before us were a big group of people (seemed to be celebrating some occasion). By the time we arrived, we were already their last customers. So, it seemed like we have booked the whole restaurant to ourselves... hahaha... Shiok!
Soup-based - quite plain but it turned better after more food was being cooked. (**)
Food - Crispy Fried Chicken Wings are nice... So are the prawns... Yum! (***)
Pricing - Quite reasonable (***)

Din't manage to achieve full attendance as Pei2 was busy with company's function. :( Miss her!
We stayed on till 9 plus before making our way home sleepily. :p

Some Girls
Are Just Weird?
For the past few days, I have been crossing path with some "interesting" girls...
(I need to first declare that I am perfectly straight. These girls somehow just drew my attention with their unnecessary actions)
How so?
1. By wearing super low-cut blouse to show their cleavage and then trying very hard to pull n cover... (faint*)
2. By wearing super short skirt and trying very hard again to pull... (duh!)
3. By styling their fringe in such a way that irritate their eyes that they need to keep combing... (~laugh)
4. By putting on fake long eyelashes and having to look into their mini mirror for fear that they might drop with each blink... (^blink)
5. By looking into their mini mirror every few seconds to check their make-up (omg!)
6. By keeping long finger nails and nicely painted them but can't do much big action for fear the nails might break... (..speechless..)
