Still Not Well...

Couldn't sleep well last night. Tossed and turned in bed, with tummy ache, running to loo a few times...

Went to see a doctor again this morning. Doctor changed most of my medicine and gave me a jab to stop the vomiting. I turned pale after that.

For the rest of the day, I was so drowsy and slept through the day...

I look real pale...

Please recover fast...

Exercise Bird Flu + Sick...

When I went into office this morning, I was greeted with sight of 2 security guards wearing face mask, sitting outside the side gate's entrance. Their purpose is to take temperature of visitors entering the office premises.

Yes. It was an exercise to prepare us for the bird flu. I have my role too. To answer the hotline. So, on my desk today was 2 telephones. 1 for the hotline (with the loudest ringtone) and 1 for my office normal use. Each time when the hotline rings, I would jump from the loudness. haha... There were quite a few phonecalls, asking weird questions. All I can say is - these people are taking the exercise seriously. haha...

Hearing that some people might call during lunchtime, i have to lunch-in. Lunch was "fried rice with salted fish". Then back to maning the phoneline... A cameraman cameby while I was answering a call... And w/o a chance to turn down the offer, I was video-cam. Argh...

Xiao kui was the "victim" for this exercise who have to report sick and then be dressed in a "spacesuit" and soon the whole department evacuated the office.

By 3plus, I started to feel sick... Went to the loo to puke a few times. And knowing that i can't tolerate until end of the day, I reported sick (really sick) to the boss for the Exercise bird flu... He drove me to the doctor. Really thankful for that.

Was terribly sick after I got home. Fever + cold sweat + running loo...

Trying to get some solid rest and zzz...

Thanks Xiao Kui!

Have been feeling frustrated since yesterday...

Sometimes, it's not the work that sucks but the people around that makes it unbearable. Not going to say too much about it coz that doesn't help lessen the pain anyway.

But I am really touched by Xiao Kui...

I saw this cute tikum ang kong on her workstation and have been searching for a similar one for a long time... Then Xiao Kui made my day by showing up with the tikum ang kong for me...

Thanks Xiao Kui! You really make my day... =>

Stress @ Work

Went back to office to clear some work yesterday... Then by yesterday's night, I was feeling so demoralized n stressed out.

At work, information are not readily available... Didn't know what to do for this on-going project. What to questions to ask, where to get info, how to proceed from here etc... My other colleagues are all so prepared and I felt like a complete idiot. Never have I felt so helpless before...

Beside this project, there are also lots of urgent hiring requests that are leaving me breathless. It's not easy to find suitable and good candidates and within such short timeframe.

I wonder how long I can hang on... >.<

Girls' Night Out

After failing my driving test, I had some de-stressing programme lined up by my great buddies... Have been looking forward to this outing for a long time...

Met PP for lunch at Azabu Sabo at Marina Square. PP tried the tempura udon set while i tried the japanese curry rice with omelette. Our verdict - Nice atmosphere, Nice uniform & Great Food! Must go again.

After lunch, it was 3 hours of karaoke with PP, ML & YW. Suppose to be a de-stress, sing-our-hearts-&-lungs-out session. But it was interrupted in our 2nd hour by the staff, asking us to sing our last song because there is someone on waiting list for the room. Apparently they have changed their policy. Sickening! Then for the next few minutes, we rushed to finish the songs that we wanted to sing... Can't stand it... Rush at work, Sing Karaoke oso muz rush. Sianz lor! No kick!

After being "kick-out" prematurely, we shopped around for the next 2 hours before meeting BL for dinner.

Dinner was at Miss Clarity. Pretty interesting place, with cheap and good food. We stayed there, chatted till close to 11 before calling it a day.

Great company, Good Food! Thanks Pals! {Muack!}

Driving Test

As expected, I failed...

All the mistakes that I can think of, happened TODAY!
  • Mount Kerb (immediate failure 1)
  • Knock Down Pole (immediate failure 2)
  • Start off at the Wrong Gear (forget to change back)
  • Failure to give way to Ambulance (of all days, that this stupid ambulance gotta appear infront of me)
  • Road Hogging (forget to keep left)

And on the list goes...

Tester said I need a lot more practices to build up my confidence level... *sob*

Well, it was a traumatizing experience. I think I need a break to get over this... Driving is No Easy task man... Can't I just be rich enough to hire a chauffer instead? Haiz...

Anyway, applied for a re-test date.

Please forget about guessing my score la... I am not going to blog it down either...

Driving Lesson 30/ Private Lesson 28

Today is a busy day at work... Lots of meeting arranged back to back. So my lunch time driving is shortened to only an hour in the circuit. Weather was HOT and I was feeling dizzy...

Parking cannot make it, upslope cannot make it, continue to mount kerb. Colleagues saw me attempting parallel parking and said I took too long...

Good Luck to me tomorrow for the driving test man. Instructor said to bring along my NRIC + PDL and a photo in case I pass. Think I can forget about bringing the photo but more $ to book another date for re-test... :/

One of my colleagues is really helpful. She helped me to pray... Prayed for a good night zzz tonite, prayed for god's guidance... Thanks Pauline!

Driving Lesson 28/ Private Lesson 26

Start of intensive circuit training...

Went for driving lesson during lunch time today at 12.30pm... Drove on main road, then into the circuit at 1pm... For the next 1 hour, it was intensive training in the circuit. Weather was HOT. Nearly die from heatstroke. :p

When driving out from the crank course, I mount kerb. Instructor said if that happens during the test, it would be 20 points deducted (immediate failure).

Really very stressed... Can I make it? (I better don't think too much now.)

Back from Teambuilding... Day 2

Teambuilding Day 2 (10 Nov 06)

Breakfast was at the resort at 8am. We were still lazing in bed, queuing for our turn to shower by 7 plus.

After breakfast, we had our teambuilding game sessions. The weather was really hot. Played 5 games and our team finished off last. :p

Went back to the hotel for a quick shower again and then prepared to check out.

Afternoon was back at the club house to continue with the workshop, where lots of brainstorming and discussion took place.

After that, we took a walk back to the resort, took our lugguage, and boarded the bus for dinner @ Kukup. It was another 1hr 10 min journey up M'sia, away from home, just for seafood. Another brilliant organising...

On the way back to the m'sia custom, my tummy started to feel weird and I broke out in cold sweat... Maybe it's the seafood I ate? The journey back home was really long and miserable... Got really sick by the time i reached the m'sia custom and hanged on all the way back home...

By the time I got home, it was already 2 hours past the initial schedule of 8pm... >.<

Back from Teambuilding... Day 1

Teambuilding Day 1 (9 Nov 06)

We gathered at the company's lobby at 7.30am to board the coach to Tuas checkpoint. Bus left at ard 8am and took abt 50 min to reach Tuas checkpoint. I survived the trip w/o motion sickness medicine. *victory1*

Then we changed bus upon reaching JB and it was another 45 min trip to the Sofitel resort. Survived w/o motion sickness medicine again. *victory2*

We checked in our luggage at the resort luggage room, where the bus ferried us to the resort's club house for our morning tea break and where we kick start our workshop. I was wondering why can't it all be at the same place w/o having to travel to another club house... So inconvenient.

But the scenery wasn't too bad...

Photo taken from the club house

In the pm, we were supposed to have our teambuilding games session but it started pouring. So that was postponed to Day 2 morning. We waited for the mini-van from the resort to bring us back to the hotel again... So silly! Then, after freshening up, we waited for the mini-van to fetch us back to the club house for dinner again... Wow! Brilliant organising.

After dinner, we returned to our hotel rooms, where we chatted, queued for shower and called it a day.

Driving Lesson 27/ Private Lesson 25

It was raining when I went for my driving lesson during lunch time. Instructor couldn't manage to book the circuit, so it's driving on the main road for today.

For most part of today's lesson, it was practising of U-turns... Instructor says "cannot make it." Stressed.

Next week, instructor has set aside intensive circuit + mainroad training... Probably hoping for miracle to happen... haha...

Flowers (Office Edition)

It was just like any other Fridays, work as usual... Clearing emails, arranging for meetings, blah blah blah...

Then... just when I was having lunch with my colleagues, my mobile rang... It was a call from my office receptionist. Weird, how would they know my mobile number? Then, this lady said there was a bouquet of flowers for me. "Did you call the right number?", i questioned.

After verification, seemed like it was mine. But..."who is the sender?", i wondered.

Then, the next thing i knew was a Big Hu-Ha within my department, where all of my colleagues came gathering at my cubicle, guessing who the mysterious sender was, because there wasn't any namecard attached. My colleague even tried calling the florist to find out more about the sender but in vain. Some suggested generating the company's staff listing to analyze. From the flowers, they deduced the sender's personality - someone decent, sweet & not too extravagant.

That got me thinking... for the next 2 hours before the sender finally called. mmmm....

Should you be reading this - Thanks.

Driving Lesson 26/ Private Lesson 24

Had driving lesson during lunch time again today. No circuit slot, so drove on main road.

After so many lessons, I don't seemed to have any improvement. Still very slow at moving off and too fast at turning & u-turning... Got lectured by instructor today. :( Said I am totally not ready.

I am really worried about my upcoming driving test in mid Nov... I cannot imagine having to drive alone, having to monitor the road condition, listen to car engine to change gears, and with a tester sitting beside me some more. *stress*
