Company's Annual D&D

Had our company's annual dinner and dance this evening. Company declared 2-hour early release for staff attending the dinner. *hee*

Managed to settle my urgent office work and came home to change. Initially, thot wanna just go straight from ofc but received comments that my attire cannot make it... :p

After changing to something more appropriate, I made my way to meet some of my kakis at the train station before making our way there. Did Hana and hair spray at the event site. Quite interesting but my hana not nice... :( Lousy

Then the highlight for the nite: Lucky Draw

Everyone was eagerly waiting for their numbers to be drawn... I was juz a step away from the 3rd prize of $5,000 (1 number away) haha... My neighbour colleague got the dollar cheque. Lucky her. :)

In a Mood for Experiment

I am in a mood for experiment... To cook Thai Food... :p

So, today, i tried my first attempt on Thai pineapple rice and Tom yam soup. Nothing amazing... Just bought packet flavoring, mix all the necessary ingredients, cook them and they r ready to be eaten.

Verdict:

Thai pineapple rice - so so only, base was burnt coz of the rice cooker... haha... A lousy cook blaming her utensil :D (But this rice cooker really cannot make it. Even normal day white rice will oso get burnt...) So, it's really the rice cooker's fault. :p

Tom yam soup - Spicy. I quite like the after-taste. It leaves ur throat burning. Shiok! But coz i dun dare to eat too spicy, only managed to drink a bit at a time... So, lots of soup left-over... :(

My Tom Yam Soup:

Did your soup have prawns? To solve the problem of char in your pineapple rice, cook your white rice in the cooker. Take out the upper layer to stir and flavour in the wok with your pineapple and ingredients. If u dump all of the pineapple rice ingredient in your rice cooker, possibility of getting chars will be greater even if your rice cooker is in better shape. This is because of the higher sugar content from your pineapple... just a guess hehee... Great try! Keep it up!

Caught in the Rain

This afternoon, my colleague and I decided to take a stroll to the coffeeshop a stone throw away from our office. Was targeting the fried wanton mee there and seemed like we were quite lucky today. No long queue at the stall.

While ordering our lunch, it started to rain. And the "luckier" thing is - we didn't bring along any umbrella. Ho Ho

After we packed our lunch, the rain turned smaller... We braved ourselves back to office. But before we could reach our office, down came a sudden downpour! We were only halfway through (although it was just a stone throw away)

Luckily there was a security guard house at another company where we took our shelter. We looked temptingly at the security uncle's umbrella. haha... My colleague asked if we could borrow for a while and return him once we reached our office. Security guard turned us down. :(

So, we stood there, waiting for the rain to turn smaller. With our wanton mee turning cold in our hands... :(

Then dunno what made the security uncle changed his mind... Probably he can't stand the sight of us, sulking infront of him. haha... He decided to lend us his previous umbrella... And merrily, we thanked him and hopped on back to office. Returned the umbrella to the security uncle once we borrowed an umbrella from our office's receptionist.

This incident was labelled as joke of the day by another colleague as she laughed when she hear us standing at the security guard house to wait for rain to stop... :p

What a rain!

April Fool Has...

Little Foo!

*hee* That was what ma has been singing since last nite [To the tune of "Mary Had A Little Lamb"]

Cousin Elin has finally given birth to her 2nd son! Congrats!

When we heard that she was in labor pain last nite, we pondered for a while, wondering if she was pulling our legs on an early April Fool's joke. And it turned out to be real. Anyway, little Foo was out to see this beautiful world early this morning...

Sure looking forward to meeting him in person. :)
