Does Age Matter?
She is 27, he is 47... For the past few days, when I flipped through the papers, I keep seeing pictures of this sweet-looking singer announcing her wedding plans with this datuk, who is 20 yrs her senior... Then I read comments from some of her fans about the wide age gap, saying that she could easily find someone more successful and of her age group.
Does age matter? (",)?

i didn't used to think that age mattered but now i do. age determines which phase of life u r in, which in terms determines the priorities in your life. sure u can learn lots from someone older than u, but in an intimate relshp, there could be a clash of priorities and lifestyle. being in a relshp with someone so much older can also rob one of the opportunity to develop certain skills because one is constantly relying on the maturity of the older half. but ultimately, if both the persons are at the same developmental stage psychologically, emotionally, mentally, then perhaps they are comaptible although I doubt it is healthy coz how can someone 20 yrs older be developmentally 20yrs behind? But,as we well know, many girls marry men who resemble their fathers..... and men marry women who resemble their mothers. because it is a relationship dynamic they are used to and comfortable with - also soothing because it reminds them of the security of a mother or father figure ..... the discussion could go on endlessly, but in short, i do not think it healthy to marry someone 20 yrs older unless it is his money u r interested in.

maybe she is looking for a father figure in her husband, just as many men look for a mother figure in their wives. this is unhealthy psychology. period.
