Staff Conference
The thing that kept bugging me since yesterday was those letters that need CEO's signature and have to be ready by this morning...
Heng this morning, CEO's PA called at 9am to say "done!"
Then the whole morning was zapping, letters folding and packing... Then down to the auditorium for a dry run of the Staff Conference. Woo... The auditorium was cold!
Then, the whole staff conference kicked off at 1.45pm. Start work by gathering the award receipients to sit at the right reserved rows and getting them up stage at the right timing.
For the whole day, I felt like a zombie, going through the whole event.
By 8pm, I was too tired again to take the train back. So, *hee* i took cab w/o claiming again. :p
Back to Work
After the fever, bodyache and rash for the past 2 weeks, i went back to work today...
Work was being "returned" to me today and the most urgent task is to make sure that tomorrow's staff conference run well. Oops! The letters that were suppose to be given out tomorrow at the staff conference were still not signed by CEO and he would be out of office the whole day today.
Keep fingers crossed that it would be in time for tomorrow afternoon staff conference.
Body still aching from the dengue. Have been feeling abit flu-ish too. Took a cab home even though still cannot claim from office (coz policy says can't claim taxi fare before 10pm and I am the damn policy holder. *suck thumb*)

My turn to be down with Dengue. (What luck)
It has been 5 months since I last blogged.
Many things have happened over the past 5-months.
Celebrated Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year, Valentines Day, My Birthday...
And this blog entry sounds like a continuous from where I have left off on my dad's dengue encounter.
Now, it's my turn. 2nd time in 5-years.
Was down with a fever last Friday and was too weak to queue for taxi. Luckily Uncle Richard went to pick me up from work. The fever that persisted for 4 days and doc recommended a blood test.
Blood test result on Tuesday: 110. Doc suspected dengue. Had another round of blood test yesterday. Blood count: 112. Doc can't determine the trend. So gotta have another round of blood test on alternate day. Have been on medical leave for the whole week.
My colleague who had a persistent fever since earlier April had went for a blood test too and it turns out to be positive. So, both of us r down.
Today, my rashes are more obvious and I feel weaker... Mama has been boiling lots of barley water and bittergroud soup. I've nvr had so much drink in my entire life man!
Dad is discharged!
Last evening, ma called to say dad can be discharged. Yeah!
Althought I thot he shld stay for 1 more blood test, i guessed he is sick n tired of staying in the hospital and had enuff of the hospital food. :p
Good to come back home to rest. Home Sweet Home. Went with Cousin Elin to fetch him.
The first thing dad did when he came home was to to for a hair cut. He kept complaining that his hair is long lor. :p
After the haircut, we popped by to update the clinic doc on dad's status. The doc recommended to do a blood test again on coming Saturday to confirm recovery. At the meantime, dad is to avoid doing funny stuff like changing bulb etc to prevent falling and injuries due to the still ow blood count
*Hope the bulbs dun give me problem now... else I need a very tall chair to change. :p
Dad down with Dengue Fever again
It has been about 5 years since we had dengue fever.
Last week, dad has been on MC for fever. We all thot it was just a common cold as the weather has started to turn cold. But as the fever persisted over the next few days and rashes started to appear, we knew it was dengue.
Dad was asked to have his blood test taken at TTSH on Sunday and it was suspected that he got dengue as his blood count was low (113). He was asked to recuperate at home and scheduled for another blood test in 2 days time.
Fever did not subside and the blood test results on Tuesday shows 55. The doctor advised him to return to TTSH. Accompanied him to TTSH the same night for admission. He was sent to the Communicable Disease Centre (CDC), which was quite a long walk from TTSH.
Yesterday's blood test shows a further drop to 44. We were all scared and kept praying for him.
Today's blood test result shows 71. :) Awaiting further advice from the doctor.
Hope the blood count continues to increase and may pa have a speedy recovery and be able to be discharged from hospital fast! His whole hands have been pasted with plasters from all the blood tests. And those brusies after the blood tests... Poor pa.
Back to School
Oh ya! To update, I went for our company's dinner and dance on 1 Nov 07 too!
The theme was "Back To School" and yeah... we were supposed to dress in school uniforms...
So, here are some interesting highlights:
Some Updates
Ok... I haven't been blogging for quite a while ever since my last cooking disaster ya?
Here are some quick updates:
1. Health - Finally Went for a scope on 25 Oct 07. Had to fast for the day and had been terrified for the whole week. When it was finally my turn for the scope, the doc gave me an injection to sedate me. Whatever happened after that was unknown. By the time I woke up (after abt 15-20min), the whole procedure was done. Verdict: No ulcer... Phew! But why do I have gastric then? He said probably due to sensitive stomach... [shrug]
2. Relationships - Realised that certain things cannot be rushed, esp when it comes to relationships. So, let nature takes it own course then. What is meant to be, will be. What isn't, no matter how hard you try, it's not going to work out either.
3. Work - Think I m going to focus and learn all that I can at work. Since I've been given this opportunity to learn new stuff, this is the time to pick it up. Time to Cheong!
